Hello, I am Dillon Wascher, and welcome to my web pages! I encourage you to browse though the sections listed below (and to the right under DillonWascher.com).

In this page, I will help you get to know me better by sharing some of the things that are most important to who I am as an individual and as a student, as well as some of the things I am looking forward to in college.

I will major in biology in college, and will specialize in the study of fish and frogs from exotic environments, but I also have other interests in addition to academics. I have always enjoyed watching and playing a variety sports, and look forward to attending college football games and other collegiate sporting events. I also enjoy hunting and fishing with my dad and brothers.  But the three most important aspects of my life are: God, my family, and my fish and frogs.

God matters most to me for two reasons. I want to go to heaven after I die, and I want His everyday blessing in provision and protection as I strive to live according to His will.

My family matters to me because they love, support, and encourage me, and I love them. The environment I live in at home is wonderful, and constantly gives me strength. I know me and my family will always be close because of the permanent bond we share.

Lastly, I have a pronounced enthusiasm for fish and frogs. I probably view them differently than most people. To me, fish and frogs are not just interesting, they are important and majestic. They are beautiful and fascinating in movement and mannerisms. My fish and frogs matter to me because they are part of what makes me unique. My personal favorites are my bumblebee poison dart frogs I raised from tadpoles, but all others are a close second. Sometimes I feel they are part of who I am. They represent my personal passion and focus of my academic interests in biology. Caring for them is a joy!

Therefore, most of my actions and motivations can be traced back in some way to one or more of the three aspects I mentioned above. These are the driving forces behind my academic interests and efforts as a college student.

Furthermore, I am excited about my entrance into college! In addition to my academic opportunities, college will also provide the chance to get to know different people, and make some lasting friendships. I was homeschooled throughout grade school, and consider myself an intellectual-type person. I am quite friendly and a good conversationalist, but I prefer listening over speaking, and personal communication over impersonal. I am not a member of Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc., but I do have my own website and plan to start a blog. I don't expect to change all that much during college, but I look forward to having my perception of the world expanded.
